Kate Baker

Vice Principal - Deep Learning - I began teaching at Outwood Grange Academy, Wakefield, in 2006 as a newly qualified PE teacher. Over the past 12 years I have loved the interaction with students both in a departmental setting, during lessons and extra-curricular, and also in whole school leadership roles. I have held the posts of Assistant Principal and Impact Manager in Deep Support, Associate Assistant Principal in Deep Learning and Second in PE. I have thoroughly enjoyed gaining experience of working in collaborative teams for many years, acquiring experience and knowledge personally and from peers in a variety of settings. As a member of the senior leadership team I aim to make a positive contribution in the drive towards ensuring all students achieve their potential, ensuring that each student has the best start possible to their future careers, irrespective of their background or starting position. It is now my third year working as Vice Principal at OACa and it is wonderful to share and be part of the fabulous success that is being experienced here. The students and staff really do show, to anyone, what is meant by the ‘Carlton Spirit’, a fabulous community and family.
