BTEC Construction Level 2

The L2 BTEC Construction course has 4 units each worth 25%. Unit 1 covers the theory of construction looking at building regulations and construction techniques this is in the form of a written exam in the final year. Unit 2 is a drawing unit which allows students to produce technical hand and CAD drawings from a given client brief worth 25%. Unit 3 focuses on the maths and sciences of materials and uses mathematical equations to work out area, volume and angles of shapes. Unit 6 Carpentry and Joinery worth 25% Students learn how to store and use equipment and how to technically join woods for the joinery and carpentry industry.
