Art and Design will equip learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to undertake integrated practical, critical and contextual study that encourages direct engagement with original works and practice.
Key Stage 3
The Art and Design course at Key Stage 3 provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to access AQA Qualification course in Key Stage 4. As well as learning the basic skills theory and knowledge listed below, pupils produce a creative portfolio of work and personal responses. A range of skills are taught, allowing pupils the confidence to access a variety of materials and techniques throughout the course of the lessons

GCSE Art and Design
This specification provides students with a range of creative, exciting and stimulating opportunities to explore their interests in Art and Design in ways that are relevant and developmental. In addition it provides a strong and appropriate foundation for further progression to Art and Design related courses such as our A-level Art and Design and enhanced vocational and career pathways. Students will develop creativity, imagination,
research, investigation and experimentation. They will create development of ideas from first-hand experience and, where appropriate, secondary source materials
Unit 1 Portfolio of Work – A sustained project, a selection of further work.
Unit 2 Controlled Assessment – An externally set assignment.
