Welcome to Music

Music greatly enriches students’ school life, offering opportunities for confidence-building and friendship-forming, and allowing students to learn important, useful and transferable skills. In addition to curriculum music, performances to members of the public take place each term, and we have peripatetic singing, guitar, drum, keyboard, brass and woodwind tutors.

Key Stage 3

The music course at Key Stage 3 provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to access the BTEC Level 2 course in Key Stage 4. In Year 7 students are given an introduction to a wide variety of music genres, styles, traditions, techniques and skills. This is then deepened and expanded upon in Y8 so that students develop an extensive experience of music performance, composition and theory.
