BTEC Construction Level 2

The L2 BTEC Construction course has 4 units each worth 25%. Unit 1 covers the theory of construction looking at building regulations and construction techniques this is in the form of a written exam in the final year. Unit 2 is a drawing unit which allows students to produce technical hand and CAD drawings from a given client brief worth 25%. Unit 3 focuses on the maths and sciences of materials and uses mathematical equations to work out area, volume and angles of shapes. Unit 6 Carpentry and Joinery worth 25% Students learn how to store and use equipment and how to technically join woods for the joinery and carpentry industry. They will undertake risk assessments and understand about the tolerances of materials. *BTEC Construction Level 1 and 2 Distinction* L2 – Pass L1* is assessed in the following way:
